Laval Villeneuve, commander of NPS 47
Laval Villeneuve,
commandant of PDQ 48

Commandant: Laval Villeneuve

Commandant Laval Villeneuve has been in charge of PDQ 48 since October 3, 2005.

A career police officer since 1982, Mr. Villeneuve first worked with municipal security in Boucherville and then with the RCMP before joining the SPVM in 1991.

He started as a patrol officer in downtown Montréal before helping develop the neighbourhood policing model.

Then he supervised work teams in the former District 1 (Villeray, Ahuntsic, Cartierville, Parc-Extension) and in PDQ 6 (Saint-Laurent).

In April 2002, he was promoted to the rank of commander and given responsibility for the Methods and Procedures Section, where he remained until he was assigned to PDQ 48.

He has a bachelor's of law degree and a university certificate in administration.

Commandant Villeneuve places a great deal of importance on offering quality service to the people in his neighbourhood. He also strives to put all the resources of his unit to work to ensure the safety of the citizens and works closely with community partners to achieve the same end.
