Our goals
The team at Poste de Quartier 38 is working hard to maintain the security of the territory, in compliance with the general priorities of the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM). With this in mind, they have established the following objectives for 2011.
Increase antisocial behaviour operations
- Ensure a constant presence and apply local by-laws, mainly those related to park closing times and alcohol consumption
- Raise awareness among the residents of Milton Park about the problem of night-time disturbance of the peace (foot patrol, distribution of brochures, enforcement of municipal bylaws)
- Reduce voyeurism acts taking place in the in the Milton Park surroundings;

Carry out meetings with the Milton Park citizens committee in order to solve the noise problems in this sector.

Maintain our implication about fighting indecents acts in Parc Lafontaine

Intensify our efforts regarding the graffitis issue (prevention flyers distribution, business owners meetings, repression with the warring parties)
Maintain efforts against street gang crime
- Provide reassuring police presence on Rue St-Laurent
- Intensify our involvement in the narcotics matters by increasing our presence in problem areas such as parks and by increasing law enforcement operations.
- Hold an annual information meeting with the local business owners
- Raise awareness among students of the risk of joining a street gang (meetings in classrooms)
Enforce driver compliance with the Highway Safety Code
- Carry out targeted operations based on the type and location of the problem
- Distribution the "La sécurité sur la route, une responsabilité partagée" brochure to drivers and cyclists to raise awareness.
