Poste de quartier 37 serves a population of 48,863 in a 4 km² territory with the following characteristics:

• Mainly residential area
• Several commercial streets, including rues Saint-Denis, Laurier, and boulevard Saint-Laurent
• High number of professional offices on boulevard Saint-Joseph
• High concentration of clothing manufacturers on rues Gaspé and Casgrain
• CSSS Jeanne-Mance: Plateau-Mont-Royal and Saint-Louis-du-Parc
• Laurier metro station (two entries)
• Largest park: parc Laurier (between Laurier/Brébeuf/Mentana/Saint-Grégoire)
• 8 elementary schools, 3 high schools and 5 specialized schools
• Population mainly Francophone, with a small English-speaking minority in the western part of the sector (Hassidic Jews, Portugueses)
• Very few problems with street gangs
• Disrespect between users of the roads: pedestrians, cyclists, drivers 
• Neighbourhood issues: residential break-and-entries, theft from and of vehicles, graffiti (public mischief)
