Inspector Gino Dubé

Inspecteur Dubé began his career with the Service de police dela Villede Montréal on August 6, 1990, as a patrol officer in Notre-Dame-de-Grâce. Later he also patrolled Côte-des-Neiges and downtown.

When the neighbourhood police model was introduced in 1997, he was appointed senior officer at Poste de quartier 18 in Pointe-St-Charles/St-Henri and then became shift supervisor at PDQ7 inSt-Laurent in 1999. After a few weeks, he was transferred to the Groupe d’intervention Est, where he spent five years acquiring extensive operational experience.

Named commander in May 2004, he took the helm at PDQ 6 inSt-Laurent for over three years. During the next three years, he led PDQ 20 in Ville-Marie, where he managed hundreds of operational security exercises such as public demonstrations, Stanley Cup series, Grey Cup events, parades, festivals, Formula 1 and Nascar celebrations, and the like.

Starting in January 2010, he took command of the Section du Développement des affaires et du développement international. In that capacity, he managed the commercial offer of police services and established a cooperative project for good policing practices with theGuineanational police force and the United Nations.

After a short stint at Poste de quartier 49 in 2011, he was named inspector in mid-November of that year and became the chief of PDQ 26.

Inspecteur Dubé has been a very active participant in the SPVM’s partnership with the CAVAC de Montréal, an organization that provides assistance to victims and witnesses of crime, their families and other people in crisis situations. He has also served on the CAVAC board of directors for over nine years.
