Poste de quartier 22 serves a population of 30,000 in a 5.04 km2 territory with the following characteristics:

  • Residents mainly Francophone
  • Few immigrants
  • Among the highest adolescents of all Montréal territories
  • One of the least economically successful areas
    • Nearly 90% tenants
    • 40.6% of dwellings built before 1946
    • Extensive residential mobility
  • Includes a large percentage of the gay community
    • Mainly located between rues Amherst, René-Lévesque, De Lorimier et Sherbrooke, in an area commonly known as the Gay Village
    • Numerous businesses, bars, restaurants and boutiques that attract tourists
