Our goals
The team at PDQ 11 works to maintain security in its territory, in compliance with the SPVM's global priorities. To this end, the team has established these objectives for 2010.
Provide police visibility to foster direct, regular contact with the public
- Reduce the rates of crime, antisocial behaviour, and local problems in the public domain.
- Carry out daily foot patrols in target zones and at target times in order to raise the citizen's sense of safety.
- Planned visits to licensed establishments
- Continue bicycle patrol involvement and presence in target zones at target times.
- Optimize the micro site. Support the exchange between civizens and partners. Publicise our interventions.
Maintain efforts against street gang crime
- Reduce street gang violence.
- Ensure a Police presence at targeted schools for after class.
- Meet youth in schools and community centres to avoid victimization and their recruitment into Street Gangs.
- Organization of a drawing contest in a district elementary school.
- Set up of monthly SG targets.
Enforce driver compliance with the Highway Safety Code
- Reduce high-risk driver behaviour.
- Carry out targeted radar activities based on traffic accidents and citizen complaints.
- Application of the Highway Safety Code.
- Analyze and confirm citizen complaints and pursue follow-ups when necessary.
Reduce risky pedestrian behaviour
- Enforce pedestrian compliance with the Highway Safety Code.
- Enforce the Highway Safety Code in pedestrian danger zones.
- Publish articles on road safety and the results of various operations.
