Natalia Shuster,
commandant of PDQ 8
Commandant Natalia Shuster
Ms. Shuster has been the commandant at Poste de quartier (PDQ) 8 since June 2011. She began her career with the police service in January 1990 in LaSalle.
Her career has led her through a variety of positions and responsibilities, including as a narcotics and morality investigator in western and downtown Montréal, a sergeant/supervisor downtown, a sergeant-detective/supervisor in the Section moralité, alcool et stupéfiants in East region, and an advisor to the Direction des Opérations de la Gendarmerie. She also served as an advisor to the strategic unit that oversees security planning for major events in Montréal, reporting to the Section de la planification opérationnelle.
Ms. Shuster was appointed commandant during the World Aquatic Championships in May 2005. Subsequently, the SPVM management entrusted her with the command of PDQ 12, serving Westmount and the Ville-Marie borough. At the end of that mandate, she was given the responsibility for the new Eclipse intervention unit.
Commandant Shuster studied at McGill and Concordia universities, and she holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology.
She is thrilled to be joining the dynamic PDQ 8 team that is so well rooted in the community of Lachine.
